FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Understanding regulations is the first step toward a safe and successful product launch. Explore our procedures, the challenges manufacturers face, and how Natur Lab can help overcome them.
From a legal perspective (in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009), a Safety Assessor is not required to use a physical stamp. The key requirement is possessing the appropriate, documented qualifications (a university degree in pharmacy, toxicology, medicine, or a related discipline) and providing a handwritten or qualified electronic signature on the Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR). At Natur Lab, every document is authorized in compliance with the highest legal standards, guaranteeing its full validity before regulatory authorities.
The preparation time for a comprehensive CPSR (Parts A & B) depends on the complexity of the formulation and, most importantly, the completeness of the provided documentation. Typically, once the entire Product Information File (PIF) is assembled—including raw material specifications and test results—this process takes between 2 to 4 weeks. At Natur Lab, we always establish a precise timeframe after an initial document analysis, respecting our clients' launch schedules.
Absolutely not. Every cosmetic product must have a valid CPSR, a complete PIF, and be notified in the CPNP (Cosmetic Products Notification Portal) before being placed on the European Union market. For non-EU markets (e.g., the USA, the UK, Saudi Arabia), strict local registration systems apply (such as MoCRA, SCPN, or SFDA). Selling without proper notification exposes the company to severe financial penalties and product recalls.
Yes. Under current law, every cosmetic packaging must display the ingredient list using the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI). The list must be arranged in descending order of weight (as added to the product), including any fragrance allergens. As part of our Regulatory Strategy services, we thoroughly verify the accuracy of labels and marketing claims before they are sent to print.
The scope of required testing is determined on an individual basis and depends on the product's specific characteristics and target audience (e.g., cosmetics for children require more stringent testing). The standard panel includes: physicochemical tests, stability and packaging compatibility assessments, microbiological tests (including the Challenge Test, if the product contains water), and dermatological testing. During a Natur Lab consultation, we precisely identify which tests are essential, helping to optimize your launch budget.
